The Investigator is delighted to host this workshop that will cover contemporary issues, challenges and best practice around cell site analysis.
It is aimed at investigators and analysts who work in a role that involves carrying out cell site analysis activity and analysing Call Data Records (CDRs).
It will be led by Darran Fletcher, one of the UK’s leading authorities and subject matter experts in cell site analysis and forensic radio surveying.
He has 35 years’ experience in digital media investigations for both law enforcement and the private sector. He is now a consultant in digital forensics and conducts training in the UK and internationally.
The workshop will include the following sessions:
Forensic Science Regulator Code of Practice and Cell Site analysis

The workshop will provide an update on the implications of the Forensic Science Regular Code of Practice in relation to cell site analysis.

The Code will be enforced from October 2025 and we’ll provide an outline about how the code will impact and change ways of working for investigators and analysis.
Challenges around presenting cell site evidence in court – opinion v fact

Common pitfalls and misunderstanding about presenting opinion v fact in court and the differences between the two.

We’ll include best practice for investigators and analysts who are required to give evidence around cell site evidence in court
Cell sleep technology

An overview of the meaning on cell sleep technology, which networks are using it and the impact it will have on cell site analysis activity
